Hearing Care Assistant
Ear Wax removal Specialist
Accredited by The BSHAA (British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists)
After many years working for the ambulance service and a local GP surgery, I trained to be an ear wax removal clinician and loved it so much I never looked back. After further training as a hearing care assistant, I extended my knowledge in the field and furthered my skills in common hearing complains and hearing physiology.
Why did you choose your profession?
I originally completed a degree in English and creative writing. English, particularly literature is a personal passion of mine, but I always had a calling to the medical world when it came to my career. I have worked in the medical industry for over 20 years and look forward to many more years ahead.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
When I started doing ear care, I fell in love with it and really enjoy the happiness and relief I see on my patients faces when they can hear again. It's something I feel passionately about and am always learning more techniques to aid those with complicated medical histories.
What areas do you specialise in?
Ear wax removal is my specialty. I used micro-suction, irrigation and manual removals. The chosen method depends on the individual which I determine after examination, but I especially enjoy carrying out micro suction.
When are you available?
Every Tuesday 9:30am - 4:30pm
